The 24-year-old from Negros Occidental went for gold after sweeping into the flyweight final with a unanimous 5-0 victory last Friday.
Ladon however lost to Uzbekistan's Jasurbek Latipov during the final, after the match was halted due to an injury over Ladon's left eye.
In a heartbreaking moment, Ladon was ruled out by a doctor after the latter saw the injury during the second round.
Latipov was declared the winner, with a score of 3-1, based on his performance in the first and only completed round.
During his previous match, Ladon already had a cut over his left eye that was reopened when he was hit in the head by his opponent.
It was reopened yet again when his head collided with Latipov.
The Philippines now has four gold medals, two silvers, and 15 bronzes in the competition. —Jessica Bartolome/KG, GMA News
