Thai world boxing champ draws inspiration from Manny Pacquiao
Reigning WBC and The RING super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai may very well be in an imminent collision course against fellow champion and IBF world title holder Jerwin Ancajas, but his admiration and respect for Filipino fighters haven't diminished one bit.
Rungvisai, who is regarded as the lineal champion of the 115-pound division, recently praised Ancajas and Donnie Nietes for being great fighters. Much more, the Thai world champion shared that he actually draws inpiration from Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao.
"Manny Pacquiao is my hero. He is my idol. It’s always a treat to watch him fight in the ring. Obviously, we’re both southpaws. Other than that, I respect him for what he has done for his family through boxing," told Rungvisai.
"It’s important to be humble. I’ve been trying to follow him (Pacquiao) by learning great things from him, not only inside the ring but also outside the ring. He has impressed me in many ways."

Rungvisai is scheduled to defend his crown against Iran Diaz of Mexico in the main event of 'ONE: Kingdom of Heroes' on October 6 at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
With Pacquiao already in the twilight of his celebrated career, Rungvisai says he's ready to step up to the plate and represent Asia in the global stage.
"It’s truly an honor to be recognized around the globe. I am ready to be at my best and represent Asia the best I can," says Rungvisai.
"I am honored to be in this position, and I know millions of fans will be watching, which is why I have to give my best performance. I can’t wait to climb into the ring again and showcase my talent in front of the whole world." —KG, GMA News
