Knockout will be a bonus — Pacquiao

Eight division world champ Manny Pacquiao remains confident about his upcoming bout with American Adrien Broner during a press conference held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas early Thursday morning (Philippine time).

"Broner, he is well prepared for this fight and I, we, Team Pacquiao is well prepared for this fight," he said.

"We'll do our best. If the knock out comes (that) will be a bonus," Pacquiao said in the question and answer segment with facilitator Al Bernstein, a Boxing Hall of Fame analyst.

The FIlipino boxing icon underscored that he wants to give the audience a good show.

"What we are trying to do here is ... as long as the people are happy, and the fans will be happy," he said.

On training and being an active boxer at 40, Pacquiao said it is a matter of balance of rest and workout.

Pacquiao was also asked for comment on his return to the US, particularly to the MGM Grand arena, which was the venue of 13 of his fights.

"I feel excited to be back here in this arena, in MGM. (This place) is memorable for me because my first fight was here  in America is at MGM and that was in June 2001," he said.

Broner, meanwhile, was not as responsive an interviewee.

GMA News' Mav Gonzales explained in her Facebook Live post that the American boxer claimed that Bernstein bad mouthed him on Twitter.

"I have a feeling, it's you against me," Broner told Bernstein.

Kevin Cunningham, Broner's trainer, also refused to answer the host's questions.
