Mayweather says he won't come out of retirement for the money

Boxing icon Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. on Wednesday said he's not coming out of retirement no matter how big the prize money from the possible rematch with Manny Pacquiao would be.

In a report on State of the Nation with Jessica Soho, GMA News' Raffy Tima asked the boxer at a press conference if money would be a factor in a second Pacquiao-Mayweather bout.

"Manny Pacquiao is a hell of a fighter. We had a great fight and we both had great careers," he said.

"You know, we move on. We do other things in life, and I'm an entrepreneur. I don't just box inside the ring...I had a fun time when I was fighting, a great time, but you know I'm busy with so many other things. I'm a chameleon. I wish Manny nothing but the best," he added.

Mayweather, who arrived in the Philippines on March 31, is expected to host an exclusive party at a Quezon City subdivision after the press conference.

The unbeaten former world champion defeated Pacquiao via unanimous decision in the 2015 Fight of the Century.

Many boxing fans were hoping that Pacuiao's victory against Adrien Broner in January would fuel a rematch between Mayweather and the People's Champ. —Margaret Claire Layug/LDF, GMA News
