Boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao's son Jimuel finally got his first taste of boxing victory after he knocked out his opponent in his first amateur fight in Quezon City on Saturday.
GMA News' Mav Gonzales said the 18-year-old Jimuel won against Miguel Egan via knock out in the second round of their game.
The crowd around the MMA cage went wild after Jimuel floored Egan with a glorious one-two combo.
Last week, Jimuel's father, who is an eight-division world boxing champ and incumbent senator, started to personally train his son despite his earlier opposition to the teen's dream of following him into the boxing ring.
Pacquiao's wife, Jinkee, posted a video of one of the training sessions and said she was already crying just watching her husband and son.
The eight-division champion taught Jimuel footwork, defense, evading, and combination punches. Pacman was hands-on in his approach and even adjusted his son's hand wrap.
In February, Jimuel went up against Lucas Carson in another amateur fight in Alabang but that game ended in a draw. — Margaret Claire Layug/MDM, GMA News
