Mike Tyson will go for a knockout against Roy Jones Jr. on Sept. 12

It is just an exhibition match, but Mike Tyson will be out to prove that he is still the baddest man on the planet at 54 years old.

The former heavyweight world champion is slated to take on 51-year-old four-division champion Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition match on September 12 in California.

Tyson, who is notoriously known for his devastating punching power throughout his professional career, said he will get in the ring with the intention of putting Jones to sleep.

“This is a search and destroy and I’m looking forward to recapturing my glory,” Tyson told TMZ.

“If the opportunity comes [I'll go for the knockout], I'm always looking for it. The fighting game is what I'm about and hurting people is what I'm about," he said.

Tyson last fought in June 2005 where he was stopped by Irish journeyman Kevin McBride in six rounds.

And while many have opposed his decision to make a comeback, including his children, the former heavyweight champ iterated that he knows exactly what he is doing.

“Don't worry about us,” Tyson quipped.

“We're both professionals. We know how to handle ourselves and whatever happens, happens,” he said. —KG, GMA News
