Eight-division boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has opened as a major betting favorite over UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
The camp of the Filipino boxing icon and two-division MMA world champion Conor McGregor both confirmed on Saturday that a showdown between them is currently under negotiations with the Middle East as a potential venue.
And should the fight come to fruition, oddsmakers have Pacquiao as a -1200 favorite while McGregor is a +700 underdog according to betonline.ag.
Speculations of a potential showdown between the two combat sports superstars started earlier this year when Pacquiao signed with the same management firm that handles McGregor.
Though an accomplished prizefighter, the 32-year-old McGregor only has one professional boxing bout to his name. He crossed over to a boxing ring in August 2017 against Floyd Mayweather Jr. where he lost by way of tenth-round technical knockout.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, holds a record of 62-7-2 with 39 knockouts. He last saw action in July 2019 against Keith Thurman where he won via split decision to claim the WBA world welterweight title. – JM Siasat/RC, GMA News
