Marvin Hagler passes away at 66


Former middleweight world champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler has passed away at the age of 66, his wife Kay announced on social media this Sunday.

"I am sorry to make a very sad announcement. Today unfortunately my beloved husband Marvelous Marvin passed away unexpectedly at his home here in New Hampshire. Our family requests that you respect our privacy during this difficult time,” Kay wrote on Facebook.

A Hall of Famer touted as one of the greatest fighters to ever live, Hagler faced the best of the best in his era including Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, and Roberto Duran.

He had a professional career that spanned fourteen years and has retired with a record of 62-3-2 with 52 knockouts.
