Pacquiao confirms negotiations ongoing for next fight

Senator Manny Pacquiao confirmed on Monday that he will still step into the boxing ring for one more time.

Asked in a press conference on Monday if there are ongoing talks for a possible fight, the fighting senator answered in the affirmative.

"May ongoing negotiation na hindi ko lang muna sabihin para di magkaroon ng problema," said Pacquiao.

He did not reveal the possible date of the next fight or who will be his competition.

However, there have been several names that have surfaced regarding Pacquiao's next opponent.

A brewing Pacquiao fight against WBO welterweight champ Terrence Crawford is a possibility, with Crawford even saying the fight almost happened before the coronavirus pandemic hit several countries.

Timothy Bradley said if the Pacquiao-Crawford match continues, it would be a dangerous fight for Crawford while ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said he feared that Pacquiao was "gonna get knocked out" if this fight happened.

Ryan Garcia's name was also floated for a possible Pacquiao fight, but the boxer himself said that the fight 'won't happen right now.'

Another possibility is four-division champion Mikey Garcia, who said last year that he was in line to fight the Filipino boxer.

Pacquiao last stepped in the ring in 2019 against Keith Thurman. However, Pacquiao's WBA welterweight title was stripped off him because of inactivity.

If the possible Pacquiao fight will push through, will this be the last one for the 'People's Champ'?
