Carlo Paalam continues PH Olympic boxing streak after Round of 32 win

The winning streak of Philippine boxing continues as Carlo Paalam scored a split decision win, 4-1, in the men's flyweight division Round of 32 of the boxing event of the Tokyo Olympics Monday.

Paalam defeated Irish national Brendan Irvine to proceed to the Round of 16.

Paalam will see action again on Saturday against Algeria's Mohamed Flissi.

Later today, boxer Nesthy Petecio will face Chinese Taipei's Lin Yu-Ting in the Round of 16 of the women's featherweight division.
