Ovialand to give Nesthy Petecio P2.5M house and lot before gold medal match


Nesthy Petecio may have yet to wrap up her campaign in Tokyo but she is already assured of a house and lot here in the Philippines.

The Filipina boxer, who is already guaranteed of at least a silver medal, is set to receive a house and lot valued at P2.5 million at Caliya, Candelaria courtesy of housing development company Ovialand.

"Even before she vies for the Olympic gold, Nesthy is already a champion in the hearts of Filipinos,” Pammy Olivares-Vital, president of Ovialand, said in a statement.

“As a way of thanking her and celebrating her success, we commit to granting Nesthy a house and lot unit at Caliya, Candelaria worth P2.5 million. We hope that Nesthy and her family will benefit from the property we will give to her.”

On Saturday, Petecio bested Irma Testa of Italy via split decision, 4-1, in the semifinals of the women's featherweight division at the Kokugikan Arena.

The victory put the Filipina fighter in history books as she delivered the country's second medal, which can still be a gold.

She will slug it out with hometown bet Sena Irie in the gold medal round on August 3, Tuesday, in hopes to duplicate the success of weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz.
