Eumir Marcial set to receive at least P7 million in cash rewards, free flights for bronze medal finish

Filipino boxer Eumir Marcial will also receive cash rewards and free flights after his bronze medal finish in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

As mandated by Republic Act 10699, an Olympic bronze medalist, like Marcial, will get P2 million.

On top of that, several sports patrons also pledged to give cash rewards to Olympic medalists.

The MVP Sports Foundation will give an additional two million peso reward, while Ramon S. Ang also pledged P2 million to bronze medalists, according to Philippine Olympic Committee president and Rep. Bambol Tolentino.

Athlete and Rep. Mikee Romero also pledged P1 million for those taking home a bronze.

Just like Hidilyn Diaz, who won a gold, and Nesthy Petecio, who will bring home a silver, Marcial is also entitled to free flights from the Philippine Airlines.

Marcial will get 40,000 Mabuhay Miles per year in his lifetime from the flag carrier.

Marcial on Thursday settled for bronze after falling short against Ukraine's Oleksandr Khyzhniak.
