John Riel Casimero's promoter challenges Donaire anew: Grow some balls, fight us
Three-division world champion John Riel Casimero has once again stressed his desire to fight his fellow Filipino Nonito Donaire Jr. and Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue following his split decision win over Guillermo Rigondeaux this Sunday at the Dignity Health Sports Park in California, USA.
It can be remembered that Casimero and Donaire were supposed to clash for an all-Filipino unification but the latter withdrew from the fight after he felt “disrespected” by Team Casimero’s pre-fight shenanigans.
“Nonito Donaire signed a contract, be a man, grow some balls, stand up! He is not fighting Inoue, he's got a contract step up and fight us if he wants to do a real fight,” said MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons.
“We want Donaire, we signed for Donaire but if he wants to run and talk about Inoue then so be it. Casimero is the world champion, he'll fight, and he is the champ that is the bottom line.”
Asked if he is willing to travel to Japan to face the IBF and WBA world bantamweight champion Inoue in his home country of Japan, Casimero says that he is willing to go to his doorstep just to make the fight happen.
“I will even go to his house and fight him,” Casimero quipped.
