Olympic boxing medalists Petecio, Paalam, Marcial receive cash rewards from Romero

Pledges for the country's Olympic medalists continue to be fulfilled as Olympic boxing medalists Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial received another one of their cash rewards on Saturday.

Fellow athlete and partylist Rep. Mikee Romero on Saturday gave the boxers their cash reward for getting medals in the recently concluded 2020 Tokyo Olympics, as reported by Super Radyo DZBB's Isa Umali.

Silver medalists Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam received P2 million each for getting silver, while Eumir Marcial had P1 million for the bronze medal.

Romero's incentives are on top of the law-mandated reward for Olympic medalists and pledges from other private individuals.

Recently, the boxers, along with Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, received new cars. They also broke the ground for their new residential properties in Tagaytay.
