Nesthy Petecio's coach Nolito Velasco set to retire by end of 2021

National boxing coach Nolito Velasco is set to retire by the end of 2021.

The Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines said Velasco, 58, is looking forward to spend his time with his family and catch up on the things he missed due to his work over the years.

Velasco is the coach of 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Nesthy Petecio.

He is also the older brother of Olympic medalists Roel Velasco (1992 Barcelona) and Mansueto "Onyok" Velasco (1996 Atlanta), who won bronze and silver, respectively.

ABAP president Ricky Vargas and secretary general Ed Picson wished Velasco well in his future endeavors.
