Olympic boxing medalists Petecio, Paalam, Marcial receive incentives from San Miguel Corporation
Rewards keep on coming for Olympic medalists as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president Ramon Ang personally handed incentives to Filipino boxers Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial.
Ang handed P5 million each to silver medalists Petecio and Paalam while bronze medalist Marcial received P2 million.
Aside from the cash reward, Ang said the three boxers will be provided with any SMC business that they can put up in their hometowns.
"At a time when our country is seeing the initial signs of hope to recover from the pandemic, our Olympic medalists continue to inspire us to do our best and rise above all difficulties," Ang said in a statement.
"As we wish them further success in boxing in the coming Olympics and in Eumir's case, his next professional bout, we are also taking steps to further secure their future with the San Miguel businesses of their choice."
Marcial turned pro prior to the Tokyo Olympics.
Previously, SMC gave Olympic gold medalist and star weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz a P10 million reward for her historic feat in Tokyo.
