Carl Jammes Martin gets crack at Philippine super bantamweight title
Carl Jammes Martin will figure in an acid test when he takes on Mark Anthony Geraldo for the Philippine super bantamweight title on December 4 at the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque.
The 22-year-old prospect from Ifugao holds an unblemished record of 17-0 with 15 knockouts. He is coming off a fifth-round knockout over Joe Tejones in February.
"Ever since I started fighting in Manila, I saw how good boxers are so I dreamed of becoming a Philippine champion," said Martin.
"Geraldo's quality is higher than those who I have already fought. Other than the Philippine title, I really want this fight because the defending champion is well known for his experience."
Geraldo, meanwhile, is a veteran of 50 fights and holds a record of 38-9-3 with 19 knockouts, and has fought the likes of Nordine Oubaali, McJoe Arroyo, and Takuma Inoue.
