The RING and WBC world heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury hinted at boxing retirement while teasing an encounter with UFC heavyweight world champion Francis Ngannou following his successful title defense against Dillian Whyte this Sunday at the Wembley Stadium.

“I promised my lovely wife Paris of 14 years that after the Wilder 3 fight that would be it and I meant it. We had a war, it was a great trilogy, and I meant it. But I got offered to fight at Wembley at home, and I believe that I deserved — I owed it to the fans,” Fury said after the fight.

“I owed it to every person in the United Kingdom to come here and fight at Wembley. Now it’s all done. And I have to be a man of my word. And I think this is it. This might be the final curtain for the Gypsy King. What a way to go out.”

In a separate interview, Fury (32-0-1, 23KOs) then teased a prospective showdown with Ngannou. While neither fighter divulged many details of the fight, the mixed martial arts superstar revealed that it is going to be a hybrid matchup.

“We are going to find out who is the baddest motherf—er on the planet. It is going to be a hybrid fight with different type of rules; MMA gloves in the ring kind of mix up,” Ngannou told.

“I am the boxing heavyweight champion, [he is] the UFC heavyweight champion. He is in great shape look at the muscles on him. This is going to be a very special fight like never before seen in the history of our sport,” Fury stated.
