Marlon Tapales stops Mexican foe with vicious body shot

Former WBO world bantamweight champion Marlon Tapales emerged victorious in his stay-busy bout against Jose Estrella of Mexico this Sunday (PH time) at the Dignity Health Sports Park in California, USA.

Tapales, 30, was on the attack from the get-go and never allowed the Mexican to find his rhythm. A vicious left hand to the body from Tapales the following stanza crumpled Estrella and was counted out at the 1:39 mark of round two.

The knockout win improved Tapales’ record to 36-3 with 19 knockouts while Estrella dropped to 23-19-1 with 16 knockouts.
