Casimero vs. Akaho announced for December 3

Former three-division champion John Riel Casimero is slated to make his ring return against Japanese veteran Ryo Akaho.

According to A-Sign Boxing, the fight will be held on December 3 at Paradise City in Incheon, South Korea.

Casimero, 31-4 with 21 knockouts as a pro, last fought in August 2021 when he defeated Guillermo Rigondeaux via split decision.

He was stripped of his WBO world bantamweight title earlier this year after he failed to defend it twice against his then mandatory contender Paul Butler.

Akaho, meanwhile, is a former world title challenger with a record of 39-2-2 with 26 knockouts.

In his last outing, Akaho defeated Filipino pug Edrin Dapudong via knockout in the opening round.
