Jerwin Ancajas' next fight to be held in the Philippines
Former world super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas will hold his next fight in the Philippines in February 2023, the boxer himself announced earlier today.
Ancajas, 33-3-2 with 22 knockouts, is coming off back-to-back defeats via unanimous decision at the hands of IBF world super flyweight champion Fernando Martinez.
Ancajas, 30, made nine successful defenses of his then world title before losing it to Martinez via unanimous decision this past February.
Though his camp is yet to announce a definite date, opponent and venue, Ancajas’ next fight would be his first in his home country since he defeated McJoe Arroyo in 2016 to claim the IBF world super flyweight title.
Furthermore, Ancajas also announced that he is going up to the 118-pound division in his next bout.
