Eumir Marcial is set to slug it out with super middleweight Thai fighter Thoedsak Sinam on March 23 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium as the Filipino boxer competes in front of his home crowd before seeing action in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions announced the fight on Tuesday.

“Just like the rest of many Filipinos around the country, I’m very excited to spearhead a fight for Eumir here in the Philippines so everybody will get a chance to see him fight before the Paris Olympics,” Pacquiao said.

Currently, the 28-year-old Olympian is in Las Vegas, Nevada where he is holding a training camp that includes sparring and conditioning under the guidance of coach Kay Koroma.

He will fly to Manila to take on Sinam, who holds a professional boxing record of 23 wins (19 knockouts) and 13 losses, before returning to the US to continue on his Summer Olympics buildup.

“He has a great time training and sparring in the US with coach Kay. We have to remember that we’re not going to send him to war just yet, but to showcase his skills for the people. After this, Eumir will be returning to the US to train for the Paris Olympics,” MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons said.

Marcial, who bagged a bronze medal in the previous Tokyo Olympics, has a clean record of 4-0 in his professional career.
