Carlo Paalam inches closer to Paris Olympics berth

Carlo Paalam moved a win away from a ticket to the Paris Olympics after winning against Dominican Republic's Feliz Jose Luis De Los Santos on Friday in the 2nd World Boxing Qualification Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.

Paalam got the higher scores from all judges in his quarterfinals match against De Los Santos and will face India's Sachin Sachin in the semifinals on Saturday.

Three boxers will get Paris slots from the men's 57 kg division.

Paalam bagged a silver medal three years ago in the Tokyo Olympics.

Eumir Marcial, Nesthy Petecio, Aira Villegas are among the boxers who have already qualified to the Summer Games.
