Nesthy Petecio gets bronze in Olympic boxing

Boxer Nesthy Petecio claimed the Philippines' fourth medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics as she fell short against Poland's Julia Szeremeta in the women's 57kg semifinals on early Thursday at the Roland Garros Stadium.

The semifinals finish assured Petecio of an Olympic bronze, which is also the second for boxing in the ongoing Summer Games as Aira Villegas also got a bronze medal in her weight class.

The bronze is Petecio's second Olympic medal after she claimed silver in Tokyo three years ago.
