Pacquiao on draw vs. Barrios: 'I thought I won the fight'

Manny Pacquiao vs Mario Barrios

The fight between Manny Pacquiao and Mario Barrios may have ended in a draw, but for boxing's eight-division champ, he thought he did enough to win the match.

Asked about his reaction from the result, which favored the defending WBC welterweight champion Barrios who retained his title, Pacquiao tipped his hat to his opponent, who gave him a tough challenge.

"I thought I won the fight. It's a close fight... but it's a wonderful fight," said Pacquiao.

One judge saw the fight 115-113 for Barrios while two others called it a 114-114 draw.

After a strong showing in his comeback fight, his first official fight since 2021, is Pacquiao willing to fight again?

"I think so. God-willing," he said.

"I only have two months training. I need to continue my training. In a championship fight like this, I need to train for four months," Pacquiao added.

This is Pacquiao's only third draw in his professional career, with the last one against Juan Manuel Marquez in 2004. The first one was in 2001 against Agapito Sanchez.
