Yordenis Ugas, other boxers praise Pacquiao after fight vs. Barrios
Yordenis Ugas was among the boxers who praised eight-division champion and Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao after the latter pushed Mario Barrios to the limit for the WBC welterweight belt.
The match, however, ended in a majority draw decision, allowing Barrios to retain the crown.
"I'd heard all along that the Pacquiao who fought me was finished, dead, nothing," Ugas wrote in a post on X.
"How is it possible that four years later he comes against a kid 16 years younger and puts up another good fight?"

How is it possible that four years later he comes against a kid 16 years younger and puts up another good fight?
It was a very close fight.
But Pac-Man is incredible.…
Ugas was the last boxer Pacquiao fought before he initially retired in 2021. Ugas pulled off an upset in the said match.
The Cuban boxer also faced Barrios in 2023 for the WBC welterweight title which went to the latter.
"It was a very close fight. But Pac-Man is incredible. Without a doubt, one of the best fighters in history."
Former WBO junior lightweight titleholder Jamel Herring, meanwhile, also praised Pacquiao's performance.
"Respect to the legend though. 4 years out [of] the ring, comes back competing at a championship level," he said on X.
