Carl Jammes Martin to face Thai boxer Aran Dipaen at Thrilla anniversary
Super bantamweight contender Carl Jammes Martin will put his perfect record on the line when he faces Thai brawler Aran Dipaen on the undercard of the 50th Thrilla in Manila anniversary event on October 29 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Martin, 26-0 with 20 knockouts, is currently the WBO’s no.1 contender at 122 pounds, a division ruled by Japanese pound-for-pound star Naoya Inoue.
Martin is on a three-fight winning streak since linking up with MP Promotions, winning two of his three fights overseas by way of stoppage.
Dipaen, meanwhile, enters the bout with a record of 21-4 with 18 knockouts, and is best remembered for his gallant stand against Inoue in 2021, when he challenged for the WBA and IBF bantamweight titles before bowing via eighth-round TKO.
The clash between the pair is set for 10 rounds and is seen as Martin’s sternest test yet as he edges closer to a potential world title shot.
