Eumir Marcial wins PH boxing's only gold in 2025 SEA Games

Philippine boxing's campaign in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games ended on a high note as Eumir Marcial won the gold medal in the men's light heavyweight division on Friday in Thailand.

Marcial defeated Indonesia's Maikhel Muskita via split decision, 4-1, with the cards scoring 29-28, 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, 28-29, to claim his fifth SEA Games gold medal.

This is also the Philippines' only gold medal in this edition of the SEA Games as the likes of Flint Jara (men's bantamweight), Jay Baricuatro (men's light flyweight), and Aira Villegas (women's flyweight) settled for silver medals.

Philippine boxers Ofelia Magno, Riza Pasuit, Nesthy Petecio, Mark Ashley Fajardo, Hergie Bacyadan, and Weljon Mindoro bagged bronze in their respective events.
