Tyson Fury unretiring to face Arslanbek Makhmudov

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury's comeback fight will be against Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.

The bout will take place in Fury's native United Kingdom, with the venue to be announced later.

Fury, 37, retired in January 2025 and has not fought since suffering consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk in May and December of 2024.

"Excited to be back. Heart's always been and always will be in boxing. Someone go tell the king that the ace is back!" said Fury, who announced earlier this month that he was ready to return to the ring.

Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, announced the fight on Wednesday. It will be streamed on Netflix.

Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) held the unified world heavyweight championship from 2015-16. He was the WBC champion from 2020-24 and has also held the IBO and Ring magazine titles.

Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs) is a 36-year-old Russian based in Canada. He won the WBA intercontinental heavyweight title with a 12-round unanimous decision victory against David Allen in Sheffield, England, in his most recent fight on Oct. 11. — Field Level Media
