MANILA, Philippines - The most powerful man in the world’s most popular sport is coming to Manila. Again. Fifa president Sepp Blatter will lead the inauguration of the House of Football, the new building of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), on August 2. Blatter will be joined by Asian Football Confederation president Mohamed bin Hammam. In a rare stopover in Southeast Asia, Blatter visited the country last December as part of the centenary of the PFF. “The building shall be the new PFF headquarters," PFF president Jose Mari Martinez said in the Philippine Sportswriters’ Association Forum held Tuesday at Shakey’s UN Avenue. “There shall be offices and people can now buy merchandise that is being sold by the organization in a store that will also be located inside the building." Martinez revealed that the construction of the House of Football cost P18.5 million, an amount granted by the Fifa through the program Goal II. The building sits on a 350-square meter property located at the corner of Danny Floro and Capt. Henry Javier Streets in Pasig City. The current PFF headquarters is inside the PhilSports Complex. – GMANews.TV
