MANILA, Philippines – The San Sebastian Staglets and the San Beda Red Cubs slaughtered their opponents Wednesday in the junior’s division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the Astrodome in Pasay City. The game was only close in the first half where the Altalettes stayed close with the Staglets trailing by one after the first quarter, 18-17, and six at halftime, 40-34. The Perpetual Help five, however, lost steam in the second half as San Sebastian went on a scoring rampage to remain undefeated and secure a league-best eighth straight win. In the second game, the Red Cubs scored 33 points in the final period in a 96-35 mauling of the Red Robins. The Ato Badolato-coached Red Cubs used a 29-9 scoring exchange in the second quarter to improve their record to 5-3 while the loss was the eighth straight for the Red Robins.
