Indonesian Yulianti wins bronze in women’s badminton

BEIJING - Indonesia's Maria Kristin Yulianti has won the bronze medal in women's singles in the Olympic badminton tournament by defeating China's Lu Lan in three games. After dropping the first game, the unseeded Yulianti recovered for an 11-21, 21-13, 21-15 win Saturday over the third-seeded Lu to give Indonesia its first medal of the Olympic badminton tournament. China was hoping for a sweep of the medals podium in women's singles. China's Xie Xingfang and defending Olympic champion Zhang Ning will play for the gold medal later Saturday. – AP
