Letran, undefeated San Sebastian dispute NCAA HS hoops crown

MANILA, Philippines – It is in Letran High School’s hands to derail San Sebastian’s title-retention bid when the National Collegiate Athletic Association juniors basketball finals open Friday at the Astrodome. Letran defeated Jose Rizal High School 94-93 Wednesday on Jarelan Tampus’ game-winning basket. Roi Sumang finished with 28 points to lead Letran, while Kevin Alas added 20. The Squires, who lost twice to San Sebastian during the elimination round, will try to stop the Staglets’ run at a fourth straight championship.
