MANILA, Philippines â A reunion of sort is taking place at the Coca-Cola Tigers camp after two of their former players were re-signed by management in a move to upgrade the teamâs roster for the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Fiesta Conference. Leo Avenido and Dale Singson, who both played for the Tigers in the past under former coach Binky Favis, had been signed up anew by the Tigers. Avenido, the former Far Eastern University (FEU) King Tamaraw, was Coca-Colaâs former draft and later had stints with Talk âN Text and Air21. Prior to signing up again with the Tigers, he was the star player of the Manila Capitals in Liga Pilipinas, where he even emerged as the most valuable player (MVP) in the one of the legs of the fledgling league. Singson, University of Santo Tomasâ starting guard in the late 90s, had a brief stint with Coke after spending time playing for Shell and San Miguel. Signed by Alaska when the Tigers cut him from their regular roster, the younger brother of former PBA player Montoy helped the Aces bag the 2007 PBA Fiesta Cup title opposite Talk `N Text. Both Singson and Avenido were signed up following the trade of John Arigo to the Barako Bull and the continuous sidelining of big man Nick Belasco. â GMANews.TV
