MANILA, Philippines – The name change did not affect Oracle Residences’ performance in the 2009 PBL PG Flex Unity Cup. Oracle Residences – formerly Harbour Centre – used a second quarter breakaway to score a 73-64 win over Licealiz at the Filoil Flying V Arena (formerly The Arena) in San Juan City. Andy Barroca drilled in 17 points to lead three other teammates that scored in double figures as the Titans joined Magnolia Purewater as opening day winners. “I’m happy (the) Harbour boys adjusted to my system. I was nervous at first but after we won the game, masayang-masaya ako. I just hope we can win much better next time," said Titans coach Glen Capacio, who also coaches Far Eastern University in the UAAP. Rico Maierhofer added 15 points while Edwin Asoro and Chris Timberlake finished with 13 and 12 markers each. Oracle broek away in the second quarter and used a strong start in the third that saw them enjoy several 23-point leads. Jervy Cruz paced Licealiz with 16 points while Dino Daa netted 14 more. Oracle’s defense limited Licealiz stars Chris Tiu and JV Casio, both members of the RP team under coach Rajko Toroman, to six and two points each. – GMANews.TV
