MANILA, Philippines – Oracle Residences used a balanced offensive attack to turn back Licealiz, 79-72, Saturday and grab the first semifinals berth in the 2009 PBL PG Flex Unity Cup at the San Juan Gym. John Wilson scored 16 points, including six free throws in the final 52 seconds of the contest to help the Titans end the Hair Doctor’s comeback bid. The win was the fifth straight for the Oracle in the season-ending tournament. Benedict Fernandez added 13 points and is best remembered for his five-point swing – a three-pointer and an acrobatic undergoal stab – in the closing minutes of the match to allow the Titans enjoy a 72-62 lead. “As a first time coach in the league, I’m happy for our achievement right now but we still have to fulfill our ultimate goal," said coach Glen Capacio. Jason Nocom also had 13 points while Fil-Am Chris Timberblake had another all-round performance with 11 points, six steals, three assists and three rebounds. Dino Daa paced Licealiz with 21 points. Jervy Cruz and Jim Viray tallied 15 and 10 markers. – GMANews.TV Standings W L Oracle 5 0 Magnolia 2 2 Licealiz 2 3 Pharex 1 3 Cobra 1 3 Games Tuesday (San Juan gym) 2:00 p.m. – Pharex vs Licealiz. 4:00 p.m. – Magnolia vs Cobra
