Iran bags two gold in Asian junior wrestling

MANILA, Philippines â Iran won two of the six gold medals at stake in the Greco-Roman event of the 2009 Asian Junior Championships that is being held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. Iran's Hatami Mohammad bagged the 55-kg gold while Ghorbanigholdaste Babak won the 96kg crown in the tournament sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). Mohammad defeated Madi Zharbolov of Kazakhstan for his golden finish while Babak outduelled Muminjon Abdullaev of Uzbekistan to top his division. Manoj, a single-named Indian, and Uzbek Abdurashid Berdaliev salvaged bronze medal finishes in Mohammada's division while Zhanarbek Kabdolov of Kazakhstan and Rupender Punya of India pocketed the bronze in Babal's group. China likewise flexed its muscles and won one of the gold medals courtesy of Su Ersa, who downed Milad Khosravi in their 66kg title fight. Bringing home the bronze were Renat Nigmatulih of Kazakhstan and Ermahan Mambetov of Uzbekistan. Also winning gold medals were Indian Vadav Suresh (60kg), Kazakh Doszhan Kartikov (74kg) and Korean Lee Se Yeol (84kg).
