Adamson trips La Salle, grabs Final 4 edge in UAAP women's caging

Adamson earned the much-coveted twice-to-beat edge in the Final Four after posting a 65-56 win over La Salle in Wednesday’s playoff game in the 72nd UAAP women’s basketball tournament at the Far Eastern University gym. Another win at 9am on Saturday, will give the Lady Falcons the chance of securing a finals berth. Adamson enjoys a twice-to-beat advantage against La Salle and needs to beat the Lady Archers once to enter the finals. Adamson leaned on Analyn Almasan’s 19-point, 15-rebound performance in turning back La Salle. Anna Buendia added 14 points for the Lady Falcons, who tied the Lady Archers at second to third places after the double elimination round with an 11-3 mark. The Lady Archers were led by Angeli Glorianni’s 18 points. Michelle Laureola chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds. Adamson used a 12-6 exchange to turn a still manageable 36-29 lead to a 55-44 advantage entering the final canto. The other semis match-up on Saturday will have top ranked FEU facing University of Santo Tomas. The Lady Tamaraws holds a twice-to-beat edge over the Tigresses in their 10:45 contest. – GMANews.TV
