Former rally racing champ Isada to handle UP volleybelles

Two new coaches will be at the helm of University of the Philippines and National University’s women’s volleyball teams. Former rally racing champion and current UP men’s volleyball team coach Vip Isada, was also appointed coach of the Lady Maroons while former national girls’ team coach Francis Vicente will be the new mentor of the NU Lady Bulldogs. Isada replaced Ron Dulay, who’s now with Rizal Technoligical University while Vicente, who was also the former coach of the multi-titled University of Santo Tomas girls’ volleyball squad, took over from Dante Alinsunurin. Alinsunurin will now be calling the shots for the NU men’s volleyball team following the retirement of coach John Candoy. Vicente’s protégé, Denise Santiago, who saw action last season for the UAAP women’s volleyball champion Tigresses, joined him in NU's camp. But Santiago will have to wait for another two years to be able to play again in the league as per requirement of a two-year residency for transferees. The volleyball competition in the UAAP will be played next semester. - RCJ, GMANews.TV
