YANGON, Myanmar — Nokia-Pilipinas notched its second straight win with ease, dumping the hapless host nation, 108-39, in the SEABA Under 18 championship on Tuesday at the Thuwunna National Stadium here. The Nationals flexed their muscles right from the opening tip and dominated the match from start to finish. Juts like in their 87-59 win over Malaysia on opening day, all players fielded in by coach Eric Altamirano produced points with 6-foot-6 Jethroy Rosario, a standout from Technological Institute of the Philippines, leading the way with 20 points and seven rebounds. “The boys were both physically and mentally prepared, and they are very focused," said Altamirano, who spent the entire game seemingly watching what looked like a mere workout for his boys. But the Filipinos cannot rejoice for long as they will face a tough Singaporean five next. Singapore is one of the threats to Nokia-Pilipinas’ campaign in this tournament, which serves as qualifier for the Fiba Asia Under 18 in Yemen this September. - RCJ, GMANews.TV
