PHL riders place 7th in Tour de Indonesia
Team 7-Eleven Roadbike Philippines wound up sixth at the closing stage of the Speedy Tour de Indonesia 2010 UCI 2.2 classified race and finished seventh place overall in Denpasar, Indonesia. Tots Oledan became the best Filipino finisher in the stage won by Malaysian Ahmadfakrullah Allis who finished the race in two hours, 46 minutes and 12 seconds, the same time given to the first 71 riders to cross the finish line. Oledan checked in 11th followed by Sherwin Carrera at 17th then John Mark Lexer Galedo at 38th and Baler Ravina at 41st. Their other teammate, Joel Calderon, did not finish the race. Polygon Sweet Nice won the team title while Indonesian rider Herwin Jaya won the overall individual crown with an aggregated time of 28 hours, 2 minutes and 6 seconds, 10 seconds ahead of another Indonesian Fatahillah Abdulah of Pengprov Issi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta . Australian Edmund Holland of Eddy Hollands Bicycle Services (0:00:21) was third followed by Iranian Moezedin Seyed Rezaerkhormz of Vali ASR Kerman (0:00:25). Another Indonesian rider, Setiawan Iwan of Customs Cycling Club Indonesia (0:00:42) checked in fifth. Oledan finished at 10th overall, while his teammates Ravina finished the 10-day race at 14th spot, followed by Carrera at 41st and Galedo at 72nd place. Polygon Sweet Nice, which finished only 10th place in last yearâs edition of the tour, went home with the overall team title with an aggregated time of 83:36:33. Customs Cycling Club Indonesia (0:06:26 behind) finished second while CNN Colossi (0:08:21 behind) placed third. The Pinoys improved from their eighth-place finish last year. - RCJ, GMANews.TV
