Miñoza earns full exemption in US Champions Tour
The Philippinesâ top-ranked golfer Frankie Miñoza added another achievement in his storied career late Friday when he finished for second in the 2010 Champions Tour National Qualifying Tournament at the TPC Eagle Trace in Coral Springs, Florida. Miñoza was perfect in the final round with five birdies to hold sway with a five-under 67 and 13-under total of 275 in a share of runner-up honors with Lee Rinker of Florida and Phil Blackmar of Texas. Utahâs Keith Clearwater topped the event with a 72 for 272. Michiganâs John Morse earned the fifth and final full exemption spot when he prevailed in a three-man playoff. "Itâs a great experience. Definitely, itâs going to be a busy 2011 for me," said Miñoza in a text message. Englandâs Robert Chapman and Mark Mouland, British Colombiaâs Jim Rutledge, Alabamaâs Fred Holton, and Texasâ Robert Thompson, Steve Haskins and J.L.
