Subic to host Bike King Cycling Classic
Local cycling action revs up for the year as the Bike King Cycling Classic starts the first of a four-leg series on Feb. 19 at the Subic Holiday Villas inside the Subic Bay Freeport. Held in cooperation with Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP), the event features top amateur male and female cyclists aged 18 years old and above who will be vying for top honors in the menâs 70-kilometer Category 3 and Category 4 and womenâs 30-kilometer Points Race. Race officials are going to use the Mylaps Pro Chip Timing System device to determine the official timing of the participants. Competition starts at 9 a.m. with participants in the menâs Category 3 to be flagged off first followed by entries in the menâs category five minutes later. The second leg of the event organized by Bike King CEO and TRAP director Raul Cuevas is slated on July 1-3 also in Subic, while the third leg will be held in Bohol on Sept. 24 and 25.
