Perpetual Help aims to send 3 teams to NCAA beach volleyball finals

Season host University of Perpetual Help hopes to send their men's, women's and junior teams in the finals of the 87th NCAA beach volleyball tournament Saturday at the La Salle Greenhills sand courts in Mandaluyong City. Games start at 8 a.m. with the Perpetual Help pair of April Sartin and Norie Diaz, the reigning women's champions, battle the third-seeded tandem of College of Saint Benilde's Rossan Fajardo and Jannie Navarro. The other semis pairing in the women's division will be against the top ranked pair of Letran's Gena Anday and Marinelle Carolina opposite No. 4 tandem of Coline Malana and Jannie Marciano of San Beda. In juniors action, No. 2 EAC Brigadiers take on No. 3 San Sebastian Staglets while No. 1 Perpetual Altalettes go up against No. 4 Arellano Baby Chiefs. Defending champion and the No. 2 seeded pair of Chris Salvador and Carlo Lozada of the Arellano Chiefs will face third ranked Erickson Ramos and John Sen Rivandedera of Letran while Perpetual's Jay R Dela Cruz and Joaquin Marcelo battle Saint Benilde's Jerome Sibal and Jayson Abraham. The top two teams, No.s 1 and 2, enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four. The championship matches will be played at 1 p.m. - JVP, GMA News
