UAAP 74: FEU tries to complete Adamson upset
Far Eastern University (FEU) coach Bert Flores doesn't want to feel that his Tamaraws hold the advantage when they go up against Adamson in the rubber match of their Final Four encounter in the 74th UAAP men's basketball tournament. "The pressure still with us," said Flores. "We are still the number three team. We're not the team that has the twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four." The Tamaraws take on the Falcons for the second time at 3 p.m. with the winner earning the right to face Ateneo in the best-of-three championship series. FEU showed its intention of returning to the finals and arrange a rematch with Ateneo for the crown with a 59-49 upset win over Adamson on Thursday. Prolific guards Terrence Romeo and RR Garcia led the FEU offense as the Tamaraws forced a deciding game for a finals berth. Flores said that he is expecting a lot of adjustments from Adamson especially on defense when the Falcons played zone late in the game that allowed them to cut FEU's lead. "We should remain focused and equal or even surpass the aggressiveness that we did in the first game. We have to continue to defend well against their guards especially (Alex) Nuyles and (Lester) Alvarez," said Flores. Adamson coach Leo Austria said that the Tamaraws imposed their will in the first game and the Falcons were not able to adjust in time. "FEU is a very complete team. They know that they have a chance because they have a deep and talented bench," said Austria. Nuyles had 20 points in the first game but failed to get offensive support from his teammates as FEU's defense managed to limit his production in the first three quarters. â Reuben Terrado/JVP, GMA News
