Games Saturday at The Arena: 9 a.m.         FEU  vs.  UP  (m) 10:30 a.m.  Ateneo  vs.  Adamson (m) 2 p.m.         UE  vs.  Adamson (w) 3:30 p.m.    UP  vs.  La Salle (w) League leader Far Eastern University survived a feisty De La Salle University squad in a thrilling five-setter 20-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 15-11, Wednesday, for their tenth win in 12 games in the men’s division of the 74th UAAP volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City. The Green Archers’ tough net defense made the Tamaraws work doubly hard on their offense, as La Salle, led by Christopher Antonio and Red Christensen, dominated FEU in blocking, 20-11, as the duo posted six and five blocks respectively. Still, the Tamaraws managed to out-hit them, 67-51, with skipper Rodolfo Labrador Jr. leading their assault with 21 hits. Labrador also had five blocks to lead the Tamaraws to victory in the two hour and one minute long match. Five Archers, led by Antonio with 13 hits, scored in double digits, but their efforts were not enough as their squad slipped down to 7-5 in the standings and a tie for the fourth spot with the National University Bulldogs, who earlier swept the University of the East Red Warriors, 25-23, 25-14, 25-14. Reuben Inaudito led the Bulldogs, which dealt the Warriors their 12th straight setback in as many outings, with 12 points. - AMD, GMA News
