Bulacan capped another impressive performance in the 2012 Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA), sweeping the boys' and girls' basketball gold medals in the final day of the weeklong meet Friday at the Zambales Sports Center. Rolando Agustin scattered 32 points as Bulacan, represented by Jesus Is Lord Christian School, cruised to a 99-81 triumph in the boys’ finals. Bulacan, which improved its third-place finish last year, used its height advantage to compliment its fluid running game in erecting a 51-34 halftime lead and was never threatened after that. "I only have two veterans from last year's team this time and this is also my first time to handle this team. But my experience in the PBA helped me train them professionally and motivate them properly," said former UP stalwart and PBA player coach Ogie Gumatay. Jem Pasion, meanwhile, fired 18 points to lift Bulacan to a 66-29 thrashing of Angeles City in the girls' division. Bulacan's lady dribblers unleashed a relentless full-court press that held Angeles City to three points in the second period to turn a slim 11-9 lead into a 37-15 advantage at the turn. "Gusto talaga nilang manalo dahil tiniis nila ang pagod dahil sa full-court press na ginamit namin sa kabuuan ng laro," said coach Redenter Bartolome. Bulacan's elementary girls' volleyball team delivered a third gold after beating Angeles City in the finals, 25-10, 25-13. Angeles City's secondary girls' volleyball team, however, spoiled Bulacan's bid to win a fourth gold  as it retained the title after a 22-25, 25-18, 27-25, 27-29, 15-10. In the other ball games on Friday, Pampanga beat San Francisco Del Monte in secondary boys' volleyball, 25-13, 25-19, 25-19, and Tarlac City emerged champion in elementary girls softball with a 12-1 rout of Aurora Province. — JVP, GMA News
