Go Teng Kok quits POC post

Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association (Patafa) president Go Teng Kok has resigned as special assistant to Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Jose “Peping" Cojuangco Jr. In an email sent to media agencies, Go said that “recent developments that have affected my working relationship with some members of the POC executive committee have made my situation untenable" prompted him to resign. Go was referring to a recent POC meeting at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong City. In the said gathering, Bacolod congressman and weightlifting president Monico Puentevella threw water from a glass at Go's face. Worse, Philippine Tennis Association president Salvador Andrada was said to have thrown a punch at Go. The scuffle stemmed from a heated argument as Puentevella and Andrada accused Go of being the mastermind in the move to oust table tennis president Victor Valbuena. - GMANews.TV
