UAAP: Ateneo reserve center JP Erram suspended for DLSU game
Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles reserve big man JP Erram will be held out of action in Saturday’s secound round meeting against arch-rivals De La Salle University Green Archers, due to a one-game suspension, said UAAP commissioner Ato Badolato. Badolato told GMA News that upon review of Ateneo-FEU game on Wednesday, Erram was not called for a foul that in the opinion of the UAAP board, "was meant to hurt [an opposing player]," resulting in a second unsportsmanlike foul on Erram for the season. According to Badolato, league rules stipulate that two accrued unsportsmanlike fouls, regardless of when they were committed, warrant a one-game suspension. The 6’7” center has been a productive player off the bench for head coach Norman Black. In nine games, he has averages of 3.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in just 8.8 minutes of action. Ateneo currently has a league-best 8-1 record. DLSU is in fourth place with NU a 6-3 card. - AMD, GMA News
