After 13 tries, the University of the East women's volleyball team remained winless in the UAAP women's volleyball tournament, suffering a collapse against the University of the Philippines in five sets, 25-14 25-19 20-25 23-25, Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena.

UE looked like it was on its way to win its first game after claiming the initial two sets, before the Maroons pushed for a deciding fifth set.

Ahead 13-12 in the fifth, a block by Katherine Bersola gave UP match points, before Nicole Tiamzon went for the kill and the victory.

Tiamzon led UP with 17 points, while Aliyah Ong and Bersola chipped in 14 and 13, respectively. Princess Se added 11.

UE team captain Leuseht Dawis had 26 points for the Warriors, while Shiesa added 18. Sarina Bulad contributed 12. - AMD, GMA News
